i’ll be perfectly honest with you. i’m making this post because i was completely drawn into this picture when i logged on to the BBC News. the article claims that “Until Axel and Buck’s studies the sense of smell was a mystery.” i’m sure winning a nobel prize means you’ve done some pretty fascinating work, made some pretty remarkable discoveries… but taken the mystery out of the sense of smell… i’m not so certain about that!
and then there’s the ear where “The movement of the oval window then sets off wave-like motions in the fluid in an organ shaped like a snail’s shell which is called the cochlea….”
