This morning I misread a phrase, leaving me with the title of this thread, which I'd like to use as a start for wonder to structure itself as moved, here, by myself and others perhaps, in words or images....

"At the end, I asked him, "if you apply your methodology to yourself, what are your own most critical work practices? What work practices do you use that allow you to perform your kind of work?"

He reflected for a moment and then said, "Building relationships with people and cultivating a deep interst in other scientific disciplines,"

He paused. "And wonderment. Essentially what I do is to develop a discipline of endless wonderment. Oh, look, look at this world!"

Quote:
a discipline of endless wonderment

initial associations:

studied wonder. . .
structured wonder. . .

image of a door frame:
a strong, reliable frame to structure the entrance into wonder

further wonderings:

the deeper the structure the deeper the wonder?

can wonder be dangerous? can we lose ourselves in its wake?

can we choose to enter into it willingly, with a sense of caring detail?

what else is needed for wonder to inform us well?

what else can wonder turn into and become?

might wonder provide an essential tonic for the soul in an uncertain time?

wonder as cosmic homeopathy?

a few more stray thoughts here. . .

is Being made of listening?

is wonder the sound of Being listening to itself?

a sudden loop of essential listening in unbroken recognition of its own strange substance?

is listening the structure (and discipline) in which which wonder opens and comes alive?

wonder as the finding of the beloved, again, in one's own soul:

the very taste of Being

a most essential awe:

mystery as an utterly necessary sense for soul's survival

wonder as the primary food of Being. . .

preserving that sense -- and serving it (hot!) -- in a clearly critical time

elements of an essential poetry; an essential vision:

an imagination of dwelling in the reality of Being before a largely unreal world ("unreal" in the flattened, profane sense, not the profound)

a restoration of wonder in the reality of its being; a communication of listening to the point of wonder -- made utterly and entirely for its own sake

sharing wonder -- across the great (mundane) divide of mystery we inhere in and span

such sharing as ordinary as it is profound, and dear
